It should be, clearly he didn’t go around there and you have to think the guy at third base 90ft away can’t possibly have a better view than a high speed camera zoomed in from the correct angle

My first reaction is no swing. But I'd have to see more angles and replays

Having said that, officials are at their worst in the biggest spots. They want to be heros and make that great call nobody else sees. Usually doesn't work out well for them

Close call that could have gone either way. The still picture I see on twitter has the bat past the plate. Not that it means he went, but it really could have been called either way. I think the folks who say he DEFINITELY didn’t go may have some bias involved.

Close call that could have gone either way. The still picture I see on twitter has the bat past the plate. Not that it means he went, but it really could have been called either way. I think the folks who say he DEFINITELY didn’t go may have some bias involved.

I didn’t bet on the game and I don’t really care either way, the replays do look a lot closer than the real time play itself tho so it’s interesting that it was called a swing and a strike

If the batter’s bat or barrel crosses the front of the plate , it is considered a swing. should be reviewable, game of momentum, people betting, technology is available why not, these incorrect calls cost us gamblers. back in the day playing semi pro baseball, we would have one umpire, no matter what, any check swing was automatically a swing, playing short I was programmed to yell “yes he diddddddd! Strike ya!!!!

im not saying it wasn’t close, but it’s hard to get on the umps for that call.

IMO it is now the correct call but goddamnit that’s still a picture perfect check swing

you can see why he was so upset but the rules is the rules he def crossed the plate
